Plagiarism plugin for Moodle assignments temporarily deactivated

We have discovered an issue with the Turnitin plagiarism plugin for Moodle assignments. The bug displays a confusing message for some students stating that they haven't accepted the Turnitin user agreement (when in fact they have).

Important: Turnitin assignments are unaffected by this bug.

We are working with Turnitin to remedy the problem. In the meantime we will need to disable the plagiarism plugin within Moodle assignments.
Important: Students will still be able to submit to Moodle assignments but won't see a similarity score from Turnitin.

Turnitin Similarity scores which were previously available for Moodle assignments can be found on the website. Once the plugin is fixed and re-enabled the scores will display in the normal place within Moodle assignments.

If similarity checking for your Moodle assignment is essential a member of staff can create a Turnitin assignment to check similarity scores alongside the Moodle assignment.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this problem. If you have any questions about this issue please contact
